Skegness
We went to Skegness on 27th September. We went on this trip so we could take photos of different things and put ourselves out there as photographers.
I took photos on the pier, on the beach, of the waves, around the arcades, of the amusement park and some of the shops near the beach. While being at Skegness we had to relate some of our photos to the formal elements.
The formal elements are:
Focus
Line
Repetition
Shape
Space
Texture
We walked around Skegness with our cameras and we took a lot of photos.
One of my favourite photo I took was one from on the pier of the railings. I like this photo because it is different. It has some of the formal elements in, it has lines, shape, colour and texture. I like the colour in the image because some of the railing has turned a bronze colour and this makes the railing looks like it has gone rusty.
My other favourite photo is a photo I took near an amusement park that had closed down because the summer is over, i edited the photo to make it black and white so it gave the photo an old feel to it, it also made the image look a little dark and mysterious because there is no one about. This photo fits into the rule of thirds, the middle of the photo is basically empty and there are closed down shops around the edges of the photo, there are a lot of lines in this photo and the lines draw you into the photo and make you look around the image because of the directions of the lines. There is a good contrast in the photo because of the white on the shutters and the black on the palm trees.
